What does a former Marketing Exec and food lover do on maternity leave with two kids and a backyard full of weeds?  Create a farm of course! Well it seemed like a simple enough plan...after all my family's been organic farming for generations.  So I decided to start Hollie's Homegrown in January 2010.  Our mission is to grow flavorful, culinary herbs, herbs for tea and craft healthy, safe bath and body products.  Herbs are delicious and full of medicinal properties too, so get inspired to cook, relax more and take good care of yourself and your family.
For over 18 years I've made my career working for what I believe in, both in for-profit and non-profit ventures.  And I've had the privilege to collaborate with some extraordinary and inspiring people and organizations.  From lobbying on the front lines of the women's reproductive rights movement in DC (www.NARAL.org), to the event production of the Bioneers Conference (www.bioneers.org), fundraising and developing programs for the international conservation of plants and animals (www.fauna-flora.org), creating and launching national brands for my father family's winery (www.llwine.com) and mother's organic raisin business (www.frannysorganic.com), a pan-European start-up introducing  green business applications, and most recently developing community edible gardens in urban neighborhoods (www.backtogardens.com) - phew!

My life continues to be very blessed with my loving husband Orion and our children Jack and Bella.

Cheers,  - Hollie Lucas-Alcalay
